Dr Bonomo is a medical consultant and researcher, based at the Department of Addiction Medicine, St Vincent's Health, Melbourne. She is committed to working in the field of substance abuse particularly in young people and works alongside professionals and other workers in the drug and alcohol field, engaging with and caring for people in extremely difficult life predicaments. Her research focuses on identifying new scientific dimensions to our understanding of substance abuse especially alcohol consumption in the young.
Dr Bonomo aims to connect clinical experience with policy and public health issues in a way that adds to valid and reliable knowledge. Her ambition is to strive for evidence to achieve a more focused and sophisticated understanding of drug and alcohol related issues in the community that many just ignore or see as "too difficult"
